About Six Hundred and Twenty (620) Youths in Siavonga Constituency applied for various skills development bursaries from twelve (12) wards for funding under the 2024 CDF allocation.
The applicants applied for different skills development courses which includes metal fabrication, catering and hospitality, Agro Mechanics, General Agriculture, Agri Business among other courses which are to run from 3 weeks to 3 years from various skills centers.
However, out of the 620 applicants a total of three hundred and eighty-six (386) will be sponsored in this quarter at a total cost of Seven point six million Kwacha (K7.6M) and the remaining 234 applicants will be sponsored when the next funding is received because the allocation has exceeded.
Meanwhile, the local authority further received seventy-three (73) applications for community projects under the 2024 CDF allocation.
As a local authority I am appealing to all those applicants who have not made it to the first selection to exercise patience as they will be our first priority when we receive the next funding.
