The Siavonga Town Council has handed over medical equipments worth over K1.3 million to Siavonga District Hospital.
The medical equipments which includes, Ultrasound, Anaesthesia,Suction, Nebulizer Machines Vacuum extractor, Neonatal Incubator, among other machines were procured using the 2022 CDF funding.
In handing over the equipments to Hospital Management, Council Chairperson Given Kwapu says this gesture shows the great importance government attaches to the lives of it’s people.
Mr Kwapu stated that he is confident that the equipment would help in improving quality service delivery at the facility.
He advised Management to ensure that the equipments are put into good use as without those machines the quality of health may be compromised.
District Health Director Dr Adija Sumbwe said the machines would help the hospital to improve service delivery to the people of Siavonga.
Dr Sumbwe thanked government through Siavonga Town Council and the CDF Committee for the good gesture and promised to put the equipments in good use.
And Medical Officer-in-charge Dr Mwansa said the machines cushion the burden of referring to Chirundu to seek medical tests such as echo sound and other tests due to lack of medical equipments such as the ones which they had received.
