About three hundred and eighty-four successful applicants who applied for various skills development courses amounting to six million seven hundred Kwacha under the 2024 CDF allocation were sent off to their various training centers after government approved their applications.

 

Siavonga Council received a total of Six Hundred and Twenty (620) Youths who applied for various skills development bursaries from twelve (12) wards for funding under the 2024 CDF allocation.

However, only three hundred and eighty-four applicants were successful. Because the allocation has exceeded, and the remaining two hundred and thirty-four (234) applicants will be sponsored when the next funding is received.

The applicants applied for different skills development courses which includes metal fabrication, catering and hospitality, Agro Mechanics, General Agriculture, Agri Business among other courses which are to run from 3 weeks to 3 years from various skills centers.

Meanwhile, under the Community projects and secondary boarding school bursaries, the local authority received seventy-three (73) applications and thirty-three applications and under the 2024 CDF allocation and the Council will spend over One Hundred Thousand Kwacha ( K100,000,00) on the secondary boarding School bursaries.
