Siavonga Town Council, through the Directors of Engineering and Planning, on Thursday, 29th January 2026, led a joint site assessment for the Presidential Constituency Energy Initiative (PCEI) in collaboration with ZESCO Limited, ZCCM, project contractors and technical officers.
The visit was conducted to evaluate the suitability of the proposed site for a solar energy project, during which an 11-hectare parcel of land in the Mitchell area was identified for the implementation of the initiative. The project will utilise solar energy as a clean and sustainable power source, contributing to improved energy access and reliability within the constituency.
The exercise underscores strong inter-institutional collaboration and reaffirms Governmentβs commitment to expanding renewable energy solutions that support sustainable socio economic development.
